Raining Cats and Dogs! – One of the reasons why I get stuck on a project is because sometimes I forget where I’m at and I don’t have the energy to figure it out and move on.  So, one of the things I’m doing with this project is prep the next piece.  In this case, I actually pinned it down so you can see the tail that I added today.  But usually I’ll just pin it loosely.

Celtic Solstice – With all my complaining last week, I actually got a lot done. I chain pieced and created stations.  That way, if I got bored in a particular station, I could move on to the next.

I had the pressing station, the cutting stations (and succeeded in cutting all the remaining white triangles I needed), the sewing station, and then back to the pressing station, etc.  So, I finished 176 white triangles pieced onto the right side of the HSTs.  I’ve got to finish piecing them and then I start piecing the left sides.  While I’m at it, I’ll start cutting the blue triangles that will be joining this piece.

  1. You’ve accomplished a lot and moved Hampton Roads to the almost complete station. =) It looks great, even without a border, in my opinion. If I were making it, I’d probably not border it at all.

  2. Organization always serves me well. I like your stations! 176 triangles…sounds like cause for that song…76 trombones… 176 triangles led the great quilt. la la la!!

  3. Isn’t it awesome to have the ability to leave stations ready to roll when you need a change? I love that so much. Could not have done it when the kids were young. Yay for Hampton Ridge! (I hate those really long seams) Melanie, that’s a super good idea to prep the next piece so we know where to pick up again on projects that get intermittent attention. Gotta do that myself!
