WIP Wednesday – 9/30/2015

Happy Wednesday!

IMG_8246

Very little has been done on all fronts.  I’ve been out hanging with the family and when I’m not off with them, I’ve been working hard.

I have some more blue triangles cut for Celtic Solstice some left sides pieced.  I’ve got a ton to press but the ironing board is missing (Hubby took it) and I haven’t been inspired to steal it back.

On a side note – I registered for QuiltCon 2016 in Pasadena.  But since I registered late, I’m waitlisted for the Special Exhibits Tour before the show begins in the morning as well as the Modern Wool Applique class.  I was able to enroll in the following lectures:

  • Color Theory for Modern Quilters
  • Great American Quilt Revival
  • How Do I Quilt It

I’m excited and cannot wait for February to come along.

I was also looking at Road2CA and I’ve got a list of potential classes to take.  This one takes more time because there are a lot more options and it’s a week long event.  I have to figure out which classes I want to take that are available and then go through and see if any conflict. Then decide between conflicting options and tally up all the costs, etc.  I’ll post the final selections when I make them.

I was also thinking of going to PIQF but I wouldn’t be taking any classes because it’s this coming month (October) and I don’t feel like trekking all the way up to Santa Clara.  There’s always next year.

  1. PIQF was always my favorite, but I’ve been to Road more often – from way back when it was much smaller and had no quilt show, just classes! Everyone got door prizes, because it was only about 100 people! =) I’d love to go again someday. It sounds like you are going to have a great time at shows next year! I’m planning to do QuiltCon 2017 when it’s in Savannah, because that’s less than a day’s drive from me. Lucky you getting to go to Pasadena!
