Stash Report – Week 28, 2016

I spent the morning yesterday running errands and the afternoon playing with fabric!  It was wonderful!  I did pick up the kit for Row 3 of Spooky Halloween and in the process purchased a wonderful bundle of fat quarter linens.  So I have a bit to add this week.  Still in the black but Moon Glow will be finished soon so that will bring my numbers up a bit.

For the fabric stash:

  • Used this week: 0 yards
  • Used year to date: 34 yards
  • Added this week: 1.25 yards
  • Added year to Date: 28.625 yards
  • Net USED for 2016: 5.375 yards

For the Budget:

In addition to the BOM fees for this month, the linen bundle, I also purchased thread at my LQS and at Hawthorne Threads.  Every time I get a 50w thread from Aurifil, I get the same color in 40w, 28w, and 12w.  It helps increase my collection in the different weights.  I don’t do this for the neutral colors because I only want to have the different weights of thread for decorative stitching that I do periodically.  You just never know when you’ll need a particular color in a particular weight.

Spent this week: $106.20

Spent year to date: $3,622.30

For the yarn stash:

I had a chance to find the yarn I bought while on vacation and add it to the numbers this week.

Used this week: 0 yards

Used year to date: 300 yards

Added this week: 1248 yards

Added year to date: 1248 yards

Net Added for 2016: 948 yards

And for Slow Stitching Sunday with Kathy at Kathy Quilts, I plan to work on A Rainbow Garden again today!  Here’s what it looked like last week:

  1. I love Aurifil thread and found a shop with a great price. I buy 1 spool of neutral and 3 different colors I don’t have. Like you said – You never know when you will need that certain color.

  2. Your block is beautiful. Lately I’ve been wondering how applique on a dark background would look. Your block tells me dark backgrounds work great!
