Story:
In 1999, my Grandmother (Virginia Thompson Reyes) passed away in the Philippines. My mother and I (and practically the entire clan) went for her funeral, celebrate her life, and visit with extended family members. Anyway at that time, Cross Stitch was still all the rage and there were stores in the malls dedicated to cross stitch. My mother and I went and she picked this pattern out and requested that I make this for her. That was in 1999. Seventeen years later I finally picked it up and started working on it. Back in the days, I worked on one project at a time so it took that long before I was finished with the project I was working on and could devote my xstitch time to this project. I initially tracked that it would me 20 years before it would be done based on how much I was getting done and then I focused myself on it and it got done in 4 years. I ended up working on other projects at the same time. But made sure to get so much done in each month in order to get this done in a timely matter. My mother was thrilled with the final results and will be thrilled when she gets to finally put this on the wall.
