February 2024

It’s been several months since I’ve had enough energy, time, motivation to focus on creating a monthly to do list. The last one was in December but even then it wasn’t a real list… just a reminder of the things on my to do list.

I’m starting to think about this list again and needing something to guide me as the urge to do things move me.

#1 – Quilt something

Storm at Sea / Snail’s Trail Wendy Mathson December 2022

This has been on this list for awhile and now this top is floating somewhere in my sewing room and I don’t know where it is. I’ll find it eventually but rather than quilt this. I’ll quilt something else on my quilt queue.

#2. Alaska – I posted about this project here… But I’ve been working on this almost exclusively at home when I’ve found time to quilt.

#3 – Mountain Mist – continue working on this

The first block is done. I need to take a pic, post it and get going on the second block. I need to pick it up and figure out where I’m at and do some hand applique.

#4 – Ornaments – all of these have been blanket stitched and are ready for the next step…

The next step is to embroider decorative stitches around. I need to go through my book of stitches and pull out some fancy thread and play with the various ones. Then pick what I like. This takes thought and having all my options with me so it feels a bit more involved than what I’m able to do right now.

#5-Raining Cats and Dogs- this is an old hand quilting project that I set aside. I am adding this on this list to remember it and figure out how to get this done. Ideally It’s one of those projects I spend a little time on each day but I have a lot of those now and so need to think about my game plan.

#6- sashiko… I have all those sashiko things I bought last year and I want to play with these one day.

#7-Kimberbell – machine embroidery. I picked this up again as I was trying to make space to walk in my sewing room.

Happy quilting!
