As we continue on week to week, I find my mind clearing up and the overwhelm and cloudiness that I suffered from weeks ago slowly disappearing. I find immense pleasure writing these posts even though anyone reading these might find them truly boring and unnecessary to put out into the blogosphere. Oh well, these posts are for myself and while it works for me I will continue to post these ridiculous to do tasks.
- Christmas cheer – I need to make my list, check it twice and find all the things I have bought over the past year and figure out who gets what. I have a lot of nephews who are older (18+) barely out of my xmas list but still young enough to get a present and all they want is money. So I usually bring something to give away along with cold hard cash. I get my pleasure of gifting something, watching them open something they could care less about and they get their pleasure of getting cash.
- clear the living room 15 min/ day – I continue to do this … I’ve been tackling the books and stuff that were on the floor in front of the bookcase. I knew I didn’t want everything that was put there but I had books from my craft room and from friends and from who knows where. I’ve been avoiding this because it required a lot of decision making. I was in a mood this past week and went through everything on the floor..
- any journals, bullet journals, or planners went into my bedroom to be gone through and kept, tossed, or burned.
- binders of patterns went into my bedroom’s bookcase
- then the books went into piles
- needed to keep
- wanted to keep
- donate or give
- throw
- I didn’t throw books away. I’m too much of a book lover to do that. But I did throw away anything that were papers. For those that I had or wanted to keep I had to find a place in my bookshelf for them. I filled every crevice with stuff and I still had big piles. So I went through the bottom shelf and found room. I ended up with a about 20 books in the donate or give pile. I pulled the craft books that I thought my crafty friends might like and the rest were mine or my kids’ old school books and my old business books. I put them all in a box, and someone from my local Buy Nothing group picked them up. I’m thrilled and I have that floor space back. 🙂
- order the Swedish stuff for K’s room. – I’ve tried to order these things but there’s something wrong with my card (I called the card company and they say it’s fine) or there’s something wrong with the website (I called the support for the site and they said it’s fine too). I have ordered a new card in case that will resolve these issues. And if they don’t, I’ll need to go to the Swedish store and buy everything manually. 🙁
- william morris. 15 min of hand work on the August block until done –
- get the baby boy to mount my second monitor now that I have the mounting screws. – baby boy got a job and a GF so he’s been a bit preoccupied. I hope by the next list this gets fixed. But I doubt it. When I get K’s Swedish stuff ordered, we’re switching the desk currently in her room to my room and then I’ll have to do the monitors again. Rather than get him to do this twice I figure I’ll wait and have him do it once.
- shred the things in my shred pile
- file the papers in my to be filed pile
- go through my drawer of things I need to take care of
Cheers!
