Today is my girl’s 12th birthday. So I’ll be quick… This past week she counted how much fabric came in the 12lb grab bag from the fat quarter shop and that lucky number is 32.75 yards. Since I wasn’t able to add it in last week even though I received it a couple of week ago now I’m adding it this week. I’ve been struggling remembering all my numbers the past couple of weeks. Pam from Hip To Be A Square Podcast and Blog mentioned a spreadsheet and I thought what a great idea! So now I have a nifty spreadsheet too and hopefully my numbers will be more consistent. In the process, I discovered that my net numbers were wrong. Here are the new, revised, numbers that are more accurate:
**I started counting 5/23/13…
Used this week: 0 yards
Used year to Date: 1 yards
Added this Weeks: 32.75 yards
Added Year to Date: 83.75 yards
Net Added for 2013: 82.75 yards

Little Girl Update: The girl is not yet awake so my quick is turning into a longer update…
I always knew I loved fabric. I just never realized how much until I started counting the yards in my stash. Keep in mind – these numbers are still only numbers that I’ve bought and used since 5/23/2013. So I’ve still got a bunch of fabric in my momma’s garage waiting for me to pull out and count. I do not think I’ve bought as much fabric in the past as I’ve bought these last few months. I believe that it’s because I’m not able to quilt and I’m not able to see all my fabric. When I’m feeling like quilting and I’m unable to – I listen to podcasts and I browse the internet. Thanks to Katie R. at Katie’s Quilting Corner and Pam at Hip to be a Square and all the others, I’ve been buying fabric online. Now I have to curtail the online fabric shopping. I’ve learned a few things about myself. I do not have time to go over them all now but I’ll list them real quick for some longer posts later:
1. I buy when I can’t quilt, it makes me feel better
2. I cannot buy fabric less than 1 yard, anything less is not large enough for the kinds of quilts I like
3. I do not like scrappy quilts – I’ll make them but I find that I don’t enjoy them as much as a quilt with consistent fabrics…
4. I have to organize my fabric in the garage since I only have so much space in my little curio where I’ve placed my fabric. Really at this point, only projects I’m currently working on should be in there.
Little Girl Update: The girl is still not yet awake but I’m hungry so I’m going to start cooking the pancakes.
~ Happy Quilting!
