Adding a project to my WIP list

Now that Kayla’s Thirties Quilt is done, I’m looking at what will replace that project in my WIP list.  Currently I’ve got three listed:

My Hand Quilt – the plan is to finish the inner border this month, the middle border in September and the final border in October.  Then I’ll bind and label it in November.

Raining Cats and Dogs – I’ve got 4 blocks left to do.  On average it takes me about 2 -3 months to finish a block because I am hand applique-ing it.

Easy Street – the plan is to finish the rest of step 8 in September, quilt it in October, bind and label it in November.  I’d like to actually quilt this on the long arm so as a practice I’m going to add Month to Month to my WIP list.

Month to Month was a project in a quilt book I had in my bookcase for many years.  I cannot even remember when and where I bought it.  I do not have it in front of me so I can’t reference the exact title of the book and the authors.  But my primary purpose for doing the project was to practice machine piecing.  The quilt top was completed years ago and I found it a few weeks ago when I unpacked my quilt boxes after the move.  I do not really like the quilt.  It’s not really my style.  The only reason I started the project was because it was the first quilt project in the book and for some reason I had it in my head that I needed to do the first project and work my way through all the quilts in the book.  There are a total of 5-6.  Now – I realize that there are just not enough time to do things this way.  I only work on things that are pretty to me.  However, since it’s done – I might as well use it as a way to practice quilting on a long arm.  There is a quilt shop not to far from me that rents them out so I’m going to add this to my WIP list.

I’m updating my quilt gallery to reflect all of these changes.

– still in Los Angeles. I’ll be heading home with the family tonight.

Wish I was quilting now.
