Okay so for January I said I wasn’t going to list out my goals each month like I did last year. I don’t think that is going to work. I’m very much a planner, a creator of lists, and I tend to live and die by those lists. Okay maybe not that extreme. My lists help me keep myself organized and on track for getting things done. And while my lists may seem similar from month to month – especially since I’m slowly working through my WIPs and enjoying the process, I plan to list those tasks that will move me forward in each of the projects. So while I still plan to focus on Celtic Solstice and finishing the top and back of this project, I do want to get Missing Ivy quilted. And once I get Celtic Solstice finished, I plan to start working on Have yourself a quilty little Christmas again.
Missing Ivy – I really want to get this quilted so I need to trim the batting and prep this for quilting. I hope to get this quilted in February.
Celtic Solstice – I’m working on Border #3. Once that is done, I’ll work on putting together a back. I am contemplating pulling all my leftover scraps and using that to create the back. We’ll see how that works. Usually by the time I get to the back, I’m so tired of a quilt I just want to get it done. That may still be the case but I don’t want to buy more fabric and I’ve still got a bin of scraps in oranges and blues and bits of pieces that didn’t make it into the quilt. I don’t think I want to make a hot mess but I might just throw something together and call it a modern back. ;0
Have Yourself a Quilty Little Christmas! – The inner top is done and all I need to do is piece the border.
Those are my top three projects that I plan to work on. I’m not sure I’ll get to all of those this month but at least I’ve got a game plan. 🙂
In regards to knitting, I plan to focus on my magenta/gray socks and my first sweater. I’ve got a hat I’m working on for the boy that sits in the car whenever I find myself waiting for a kiddo but that’s car knitting. Maybe next month, I’ll be pulling that out to start the decrease. I’ll work on my other 2 socks if I get the urge to work on them. Here are the latest pics I’ve got of my projects –
Creating a back is such a new concept to me. I usually just make it a solid piece of the same fabric, maybe pieced with one seam to make it fit correctly. It will be fun to see what you decide to do.
Thanks Wendy! 🙂
