It’s been a couple of weeks and life has been a bit hectic every weekend. Last weekend I was away at another guild workshop. This time I attended a class with Pat Blair on Free Motion Quilting. And that Friday night attended another UFO Party with some friends. I had these practice sandwiches I made that I finished off with some binding and am now using as place mats.
Don’t look at them too closely. These started out as a practice quilt on my midarm back in the day. After quilting, I cut them up into placemats and they’ve been waiting to be bound ever since. I finished 3 of them and that’s about 1 yard used. Woot! Then at the workshop I used up 7 practice sandwiches.
This weekend, I made this cute little bag… and it used 2 FQs! So, are you counting, that’s about 5 yards used! 14 FQs (Practice sandwiches) + 2 for the baggie = 16 FQs/4 = 4 yards plus the 1 for the mats. 🙂
The fabric stash:
- Used since last time: 5 yards
- Used year to date: 9.25 yards
- Added since last time: 0 yards
- Added year to Date: 8.5 yards
- Net used for 2018: 0.75 yards
For yarn: I am almost done with Kayla’s Weasley sweater. I’m about to make the same thing for Jacob but in blue and silver. Since I need a little break between the two sweaters, I’m in no rush and told my LYS to order it when they next do their main order. In the meantime, I’m going to start a new project and bought 3 skeins from my LYS.
The yarn stash:
- Used since last time: 0 skeins
- Used year to date: 5 skeins
- Added since last time: 3 skeins
- Added year to date: 14 skeins
- Net ADDED for 2018: 9 skein
Slow Stitching Sunday
Here is what it looked like last time:
And here’s what it looks like now:
I am almost done with this project. I’ve got two of those dark green circles to applique down and then do any other extra embroidery stitches. Then I can move on to Block 9!

I love the blue flowers. The color really pops on the dark background.
Thank you! 🙂
I see the Rainbow Garden is still growing! Your fabric usage is going the right way. =)
Thanks!
