Quilt in Progress: Plum Fusion

Reminder- This is the 2022 Saturday Sampler from Cotton and Chocolate in Thousand Oaks, CA.

My June goal was to finish this top but it’s a big baby and every time I think I’m close – the end keeps getting further away.

Here is where I’m at now and it looks like it’s done and it’s big enough to be so. But it’s not. I still need to attach a 3.5” border to it. and then this too will be done.

Before I can attach the border I have to trim and that’s holding me back. My current space doesn’t allow me to trim those parts. Later this month I’ll be going on retreat for my guild’s annual retreat in Temecula and I plan to trim this there. I hope I will have the space to do so and to also get the borders on too. If so it will be done in June but I don’t know if I’ll have the energy to do so.

Happy quilting!

Melanie

  1. Trimming large quilts is tricky in small spaces. I think your idea of bringing it to the retreat is a good one (plus you can put it off a bit longer – LOL). It’s a beauty!
