BOM 2025 – William Morris – Update #2

I first posted about this new start here and recently provided an update here. I am enjoying this fabric so much and each block so far has been both challenging and fun.

Block #1 was the most challenging with all the pieces and points. If I remember correctly, my friend said there were 72 pieces in that one block. We were told this is the most challenging block in the quilt so hopefully that’s correct and we can look forward to easier, fun blocks in the future.

Block #2 has one piece fussy cut (the center) and everything else was just as I cut it with no fussiness. Those flowers in the center/sides could be fussy cut more if I wanted more of the peach flowers in the block. But I didn’t think of it until I saw my friend’s who had more peachy colors in. It was really nice and if those were simple squares I would have considered ripping and doing it over. But they are not simple squares but snowballs and I was having a hell of a time fussy cutting block 1 to get my snowballs right. so I like how mine turned out just fine.

And here is block #3 – this has been the easiest of the three so far. I fussy cut the center again but it wasn’t necessary as the fabric is very busy and would have been fine. But that center looks like a deers head and I wanted to capture that.

and all 3 blocks on the design wall

I am caught up for now and hope I continue to stay caught up.
