last report – week 11.5- 2/18/2026 – there’s been so much rain I’ve had to come out and remove excess water. I’m hoping they are still good despite the too much water.week 13- 3/1/2026 – it feels like my babies are struggling… I think I removed too much when I removed the mulberries. I left more of the leaves on the last set to bloom and that one looks so much better. I hope the rest of the them bloom so I can remove the fruits and let the leaves grow.week 14- 3/7/26 – not looking good but I’m hoping as things warm up the leaves and buds unfurl. week 14- 3/7/26 – here’s the one cutting that looks like it’s doing well from another angle.week 15- 3/14/26 – the two that are looking good look better this week. several of the other have their fruits coming out. I’m being very careful and only removing fruit and keeping the leaves. I still do not see roots but I hope they are forming.
I asked my gardener to dig holes for some of my baby fruit trees that need to go in the ground asap. as well as extending my drip lines out. It’s been in the 80’s the last week or so so I’m considering adding a day of water. I’m currently watering twice a week but with the warmer weather I may need to up it to 3.
Happy gardening. I’m enjoying watching our short spring come about but the heat is fast approaching. Every year it comes sooner and longer while our chill months shorten.
