Please stop me from starting a new project…

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been working hard on my Bukid project –

It’s grown slowly but surely but more so over the last few months as my motivation increased.  There was a spell late last year when I became bored of the colors and I started a new project, A Rose Fairy.  I haven’t touched it since Nov, 2016.

I’ve been watching a bunch of YouTube podcasts again and I’m being exposed to more current cross stitch patterns.  I’m loving what I’m seeing.  If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you may know that I started cross stitching with my grandma in the 90’s and all my current patterns and stash are from that time in my life.  I haven’t bought anything since because I wasn’t into it as I was and when I did work on a project, I was determined to finish the patterns I’ve got.  That is changing.  All the patterns I have from that time are HUGE projects that will take me multiple years to finish.  Case in point, I’ve been working on Mama’s Bukid regularly for 2 years and I’m still on the first page! Granted I’m almost done but there are 9 pages to this project!  At this rate, it’s going to take me 16 years to finish.  That is not inspiring.  So, I’m looking for a small project that I can work on and finish within a month or two.  I’m looking for something modern and sparkly.

Okay – I started this post asking someone to please stop me from starting a new project and I’m ending it convinced I need to start a new project. ;0

I’ll start shopping now.

Cross Stitch, an update

“Mama’s Bukid” …

Finally some work done on this project! Here’s what it looked like on my last update:

It’s harder to tell but the trees are filled in more.  I’m hoping to get this row (7?) done in the next few weeks.

And I didn’t get any progress on this one done.  I only had enough cross stitch in me to do the work I did on Mama’s Bukid.  That’s okay.  When I’m tired of the greens and browns of Mama’s Bukid, A Rose Fairy is my break between those browns.  So, I’ll just keep this until that happens.

My Goal for 2016 for cross stitching is to get the “welcome” project done and get started on my farm piece.

Cross Stitch, it’s been awhile…

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve touched my cross stitch projects. I worked a bit on Mama’s Bukid but didn’t touch the Rose Fairy at all.  I’ll get back to it when I am able to.

Cross Stitch, a weekly update

I am enjoying the time I’m spending on my cross stitch.  The best time for me is after dinner during the week.  I can do a bit on each of my projects.  Wednesday evenings I take a picture of how it looks for my Thursday update.  I never realized that I am a two project girl.  It helps alleviate the monotony of one but keeps the progression going on both.  Any more and one of the projects would suffer.  That’s not the same with quilting or even knitting where I have multiple projects going on at different phases of the process.  I work on whatever phase I’m in the mood to tackle.  🙂
