Getting it done – one piece at a time…
The #1 item on my WIP list (our Family Holiday Newsletter) is officially done! woohoo! They are in the mailbox ready for pick up. The first batch went out yesterday and the rest is going out today. I’m so glad they are off my list. I haven’t done much quilty-wise since Manic Monday so nothing much to report. But here goes –
Celtic Solstice – Step 3 is half done and I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get anymore done before the next clue.
Hand quilting – I’m halfway through the second side. Really not much progress here but I’m okay with that right now. I just do not want it to fall by the way side. It is really almost done – just the final border and then binding and a label!
My hand projects – Raining Cats and Dogs – I was able to get a few pieces down over the weekend while waiting for the girl at her knitting class. But that’s it. I’ve been trying to touch this project every Monday and that was doable for a few weeks. This week though has work taking over every aspect of my life. That will change shortly though.
A Rainbow Garden. So I’m still working on the October block. I just received the December block so now I’m 2 months behind. I’ll be working on this tomorrow when I take the girl to cheer practice so hopefully I get a lot done.
Next week I’m on a little vacation. Most of my clients will be on vacation so all my regular conference calls have been cancelled for the next two weeks. The goal is to only work 2-3 hours a day and then the following week the family and I are going on a little end of the year retreat. I convinced everyone that instead of gifts this year, we should spend a week in Reno, NV. Surprisingly, the kids didn’t give me any issues with this idea. It helps that living where we live, we do not see snow and my son has been wanting to see snow for the last year. So, the plan is to hang out there for a week. I’m bringing my sewing machine and a couple of board games. We’ll spend a day or two at the slopes. The hubby will hang out at the casinos. 🙂 And hopefully have great memories.
