Block 10 – Sea of Serenity

This month’s block is finally finished.  It took me 3 weekends to get it done.  I really needed serenity this month as I’ve been super busy at work.  But I’m not going to complain about that now…

I really like this block.  It looks so cool.  There were a lot of pieces and the first weekend I spent sorting the fabric and cutting.  The second weekend I spent paper piecing the bulk of it.  This weekend I hand appliqued using the freezer paper method the center.  It’s so nice to know multiple techniques.  That way, I can do whichever technique I feel best suited to use for a particular task.  Then, I put the borders of the block on.  I did have to make two of these this month so that made things a little longer too.

I’m excited though because now there is only 1 more block left and then it’s the finishing blocks.  I am hoping to have a finish top soon. 🙂
