Monday Madness – 2/22/2016

Happy Monday everyone!  It’s the start to a new great week in the making! woohoo!

The weekend was wonderful and now that I’ve experienced my first QuiltCon, I’ll be posting a bit about my different experiences between Road, PIQF and QuiltCon!  Hopefully I’ll have time to get that out in the next day or two.

In regards to my design wall, nothing is on it… It’s still not up.  But, I’m working on the 4th border of Hampton Ridge so I’ll just post an old picture of it on my design floor.

Imagine this with the 3rd border on.  Here it is all folded up:

Anyway, I was able to get all the HSTs pressed and now I’m trimming them up.

I love my Bloc-Loc rulers.  I’ve got most of the HST ones and some others.  I think I’m okay with what I’ve got.  I’ve wanted the Flying Geese ones for a long time, but I think I’m cool without them for now.  We’ll see if I decide otherwise.  If I ever decide to do a ton of Flying Geese then I’ll probably buy these online. I don’t think my LQS has them but I guess I’ll check first if I ever decide to get them.  The little pile on the bottom left is all I’ve got left to do.  the larger pile on the top left are all done.  Once they are all trimmed and squared up, I’ll be piecing them into 4 sets of 42. My goal for this next week is to get this all done so that by the weekend, I’ll be able to get border #4 on to the quilt.

I’m looking forward to a great week!

  1. I would have finished that quilt with that wonderful stripe, but then I procrastinate when I get to the borders! It is a beautiful quilt.
I have a block lock ruler and don’t use it. It’s funny how we tend to like some rulers better than others.

  2. Wow, this is a fantastic quilt! The different block designs are so striking and the borders really highlight them. I too love my bloc lok ruler – I have the HST one. I’ve been thinking about the flying geese one too but I would like to see it in action before I buy it. 🙂

  3. I have enjoyed using the Bloc-Lock rulers too. Your quilt looks fabulous. And, ugh, squaring up lots of half square triangles… not fun but oh the finished results can be so worth it!

  4. Gosh, the borders are really making your Hampton Ridge sing so beautifully. 😀 *Love* it! I don’t have a bloc-lock ruler, but I see how fantastic it would be to have one for small-size trim-ups in particular.

  5. Where can I buy this pattern ? I checked Marcus Brothers but it appears to be out of print. Please advise.
