Stash Report – Week 48, 2016

Per this post, I bought a yard of fabric for the side and corner triangles of Provence.  🙁  But it’s needed yardage to finish up a quilt and not just stash accumulation.  I like to track my yardage because it keeps me mindful of buying fabric.  I have 6 large plastic bins filled with fabric and 1 large bin for larger scraps and such.  That’s all the space I have for fabric and they are completely filled.  So, I’ve had to be careful with what I bring into my house.  Bonnie Hunter’s annual mystery quilt helps reduce my scrap bins each year.  The first thing I did to prepare is run through my smaller scrap bin for all the colors I need.  Then I go through the large bin.  As I work through the first clue, I haven’t run out of those fabrics yet but when I do, I’ll be hitting the larger bins with full yards of fabric.

For the Budget:

I bought the fabric mentioned above and paid for this month’s kit for Have Yourself a Quilty Little Christmas! And I bought new knitting needles.  I had to try the Ciaogoo 9″circular needles for the socks I’m making I bought #1’s and #2’s.  And as soon as I got them I started using them.  The #1s are being used in my pinky/purple socks and I casted on a new pair of purple socks for the #2s.  Can you tell I love purple? So far I’m loving them.

Spent this week: $65.00 (I just rounded because I didn’t have the receipt in front of me and I didn’t want to look for it.)

Spent year to date: $4,571.73

  1. So enjoyed visiting your site. Lovely way to deal with scraps. I’m trying to get organised but not sure if it will ever happen.

  3. Beautiful Rainbow Garden block! You’ve done pretty well on your stash busting this year. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan to use up more scraps with Bonnie’s mystery. I’m using scrappy yardage. It will be fun to see the different versions develop.
