November 2022

For October, I started Wendy Mathson’s Storm at Sea/snails trail at our guild’s workshop. This month, Arlene Arnold will be coming to speak and will teach her Lucretia’s Journey quilt. This class was supposed to happen early this year and was our first scheduled in person lecture since lockdown. But with Omnicron and whatever surge was going on the powers that be decided to postpone. I’m super excited that this is happening now. I have all the prep work done so I’m ready for the class.

Last month I did well having 3 WIPs to focus on. So I’ll do the same this month. My third WIP is Plum Fusion – one of our Local shops Saturday Sampler.

Plum Fusion – last pic standing

I’m several months behind. I kept up well in the beginning and possibly through July or August. Then my busy fall schedule began and I set it aside to stay on top of the several new starts I was working on.

Under the quilting needle, I’m still trying to finish Provence. I have just about 3 feet left in the final side of the border and then I can move this into the binding and final finishing stage.

and I’m prepping the disappearing 9 patch to take its place. The top was finished last month and I have the back prepped. I just need to get the batting ready. I plan to quilt simply in this one since the main fabric is so busy.

Happy quilting!

Melanie
