I recently went to a small mini retreat with my quilty friends at one of our LQS’. And after I spent 1.5 days cutting for my next two door banners I put the next border on my Christmas in Paris quilt. If you compare this with the first picture, you’ll see they don’t match. Basically the kit I got had been originally kitted up for a different quilt and the shop added this quilt pattern as an alternative. Somewhere early in the process of getting it together I made some mistakes in identifying which fabric was for what and by the time I’m where I am now, the border fabric was either used somewhere else or I didn’t have enough to complete what it was supposed to. I also didn’t have the energy or desire to create orange peels for the border that was originally designed for this quilt.

I went in a different direction.

I love how the first skinny border and second border looks and I am enjoying that feeling right now. It’s still not done. I’ve gone one last border to add and I’ll be doing that at the next retreat. For now I am enjoying where this is currently at and I know that when I finish that last border, my happiness will be exponential.
