I’ve talked about my great move and how much it’s disrupted my crafty life. I’m not sure I talked much about the details and what it entails. So here goes…

First, I moved my son from his smaller bedroom to my office/sewing room. In order to do that I had to remove everything from my sewing room. It all went into the living room. Then he moved into my sewing room.

Next, I was to move my bedroom into my son’s old bedroom (the middle room) except it was pretty gross. I don’t know how teenage boys gets their walls so dirty but I decided it needed to be painted and in order to do that I couldn’t move my stuff into his room. So all my stuff sat in the living room while I coordinated with the painter. They had to also paint my bathroom that had suffered a leak and had some wall damage.

And third my master bedroom was becoming my sewing studio.

While almost everything was kind of out, I decided I might as well as do the floors too. I still had carpet in these three rooms and I wanted them to be hardwood floors like the rest of the house. In both the middle room and my son’s new room the carpet was over wood so it would be just pulling up the carpet (hoping it all looked good) and then sanding and refinishing the wood. My master bedroom would need carpets pulled and new floors laid since it was an extension from a long time ago with no hardwood underneath.

And in order to get it all done, I needed to get everything left in these rooms out of there and my son had finals and I had several commitments. So after months they finally did it and I love it

And in this process I realized that I need to pull things out regularly, go through everything, clean behind everything and remove all the things I don’t use or don’t love. So everything remains in my living room as I figure out if I still want them and where I want them to live.
