Being in the black was short-lived! I ended up deciding to play with Judy’s year-long mystery quilt – Tell It To The Stars and purchased the fabric provided by Vicki Welsh. So I’ve got 14 big whopping yards to add! But it is for a project and I’m happy to say that I finished the first clue yesterday. I’ll post about it with pictures in a bit but I wanted to get my stash report posted first thing this morning. I did get a lot of work done on some of my BOMs – here’s a sneak peek…
I’m not really happy with the first block for Moon Glow. I got confused with the instructions and messed up big time. I’ve got a huge poof in the middle of this star and I’m not sure what I’m going to do about – keep it as a reminder of lessons learned or if I want to purchase the fabric and do it over again.

At least you have a plan for the incoming. The first block looks great! Sorry, I have nothing helpful to offer on the second.
Thanks Kate! I’m leaning towards buying the fabric and re-doing it. Or maybe I’ll have enough scraps as the BOM continues to use to redo.
Love that Hampton Ridge block! I’m wondering if there’s a way to open that center and restitch so there’s not so much poof? What happens if you steam it, or even wash it? I like the block, but if I’d made it, that would be it, wouldn’t be doing it twice. LOL
Opening and restitching the center is a great idea! I may do that. It’s worth a try at least. 🙂
Can you cut out the center of you poofy block and applique a piece over it? Love the colors in it. Your first block is great. You will love working with Vicki’s fabrics.
Another great idea! Thanks Dee Dee!
