What a wonderful day!

I’ve got a number of things juggling around.  I decided to start helping out more with the guilds that I’m a part of.  So for SFVQA, I’ve joined the Quilt Tour committee.  The first meeting is next Wednesday but basically, members get to check out other members’ sewing spaces.  I’m sure it’s more involved than that but I enjoy seeing how other people use and design their spaces.  I usually get a bunch of ideas just looking at pictures online.

Second, I joined the SFVQA Strip Club.  I think they just started it and every month there’s a color, people sign up and depending on how many people sign up will determine how many strips of that color you bring to the next meeting. For this round, its 31 yellow strips! I just ransacked my fabric stash and yellow is not a color I’ve got.  Well, I take that back, I do not have yards of yellow.  So I need to go to the quilt shop and buy enough fabric for 31 – 2.5″ yellow strips which is about 2-1/4 yards.  Luckily the sew in for Valley MQG is on Saturday at my favorite LQS, Quilt Emporium.

For TGIF, I finished putting border #1 on Raining Cats and Dogs!

Almost there!  Just 1 more border and the top is done!

I’ve also picked the binding for scrapitude and I’ll be working on getting that on.  I don’t think I’ll be working on it at the sew in.  It’s too unwieldy.  I’m also not sure I want to work on the next step for Celtic Solstice.  Well, I think I’ll bring Celtic Solstice and Missing Ivy.

  1. Oh, I’m so jealous! I had a no-sew Friday. =P I enjoyed reading what you are doing with the guild (which is a very nice guild, in my opinion) and seeing the first border on the dogs and cats quilt. The strip swap will be fun! I wouldn’t mind seeing other people’s sewing spaces, but I don’t want to show mine. LOL I’d have to clean house!

    • Thanks Susan, I’m trying not to get too involved as I tend to overcommit myself. So I’m taking great care to only do a bit at a time. I can’t wait to see the sewing spaces also. and like you I wouldn’t want to show mine either! 🙂
