For the fabric stash:
I bought fabric. 🙂 I am part of the strip club with my guild and this month it’s polka dots. So I bought 3 yards of fabric with dots. Then I cut them into 2.5″ strips. Our guild meeting is on Monday so we’ll be exchanging then. Last month it was yellow and there was a bit of a snafu. We were supposed to bring 31 strips but when I got home I counted my strips and only had 26. 🙁 Something happened with the dispersing of strips. Anyway, we got an email and apparently some people forgot to bring theirs and there were extra. The people doing the dispersing gave the extras to philanthropy. Not a bad idea except that I would have liked to at least received what I brought. So, they’re fixing things at this upcoming meeting. The people who forgot are supposed to bring theirs and the rest of us are supposed to be made whole. 🙂 Hopefully everyone remembers this month. And since I was at my favorite LQS I also bought a yard of fabric I had to bring home with me. 🙂 I’m still in the black which is good but I need to get a finish here soon. 🙂

the polka dot fabric is cut and ready for my guild meeting on Monday. The pink/fuschia fabric is the one I HAD to take home! 🙂

For the Budget:
I bought a bunch of stuff this week and I’ve used up all my budget for the rest of the year. /sigh. I joined the Row of the Month programs at my LQS; I bought fabric and I bought a hand quilting frame! It’s still in the box and I hope to get it set up today. I’m so excited to put it together. In addition, I bought some art pens and a new journal. It may seem weird to put that part of my crafty budget but in my head it makes sense. Anyway, I blew past my budget already and it’s only 5/7/16. We’re not even half way through the year. At this point, I’m adjusting my goal from staying within my budget to simply tracking how much I’m spending on crafty stuff.
Spent this week: $431.53
Spent year to date: $3123.96
For the yarn stash:
Still reporting the same thing for yarn… I got a little bit of knitting done this week. But the Rosie hat is still not finished.

And for Slow Stitching Sunday with Kathy at Kathy Quilts, I plan to work on A Rainbow Garden again today! Here’s where I was last week:
Here’s where I’m at now!
The block is almost done. I have the blue center on the right to do and, if you can see, all the black centers left. Then I’ll be done with this block and be ready to start on the next one. 🙂

You are still in the black on the stash, so you are doing really well since we are more than 1/3 done with the year. You are very brave to track what you spend on crafty stuff. I’m not sure I would want to know!
Thanks Kate! 🙂
A budget is only a guide line for spending. You had quite a few big purchases which will last several years so maybe you should pro-rate them. My budget does not include big ticket items i.e. anything that costs over $200 unless it is a fabric kit.
Thanks Charlene!
I cannot wait to see the spooky Halloween block made up. I like the fabrics.
