Well, I didn’t get my OMG done for this month. I only had half the month to get it done and just ran out of time before I jumped on a plane to Florida. Here’s where I stand at the end of the month:
#1 – Get 6 quilts done in 2016
Quilt #1 – Tell It To The Stars – finished 2/20/2016
Quilt #2 – Scrapitude,2015 – ==> finished 4/3/2016
Quilt #3 – Moon Glow – My goal for June is to finish quilting Moon Glow.
==> not done. I’ll have to move this to July.
Quilt #4 – Hampton Ridge – this is in queue. I still need to get the backing and label ready for this. But I will not get going on this until Moon Glow is being quilted. If I can get Moon Glow quilted in June I hope to get this on the frame in July.
==> Moon Glow is not done but is off the frame. As soon as I’m done quilting Moon Glow’s borders I need to get the back of Hampton Ridge pieced together and embroider a label for this. I may still be able to get Hampton Ridge on the frame in July.
===> Same spot but once Moon Glow is completed, I intend to focus on Hampton Ridge to get this done too.
Quilt #5 – Raining Cats and Dogs – top was finished on 4/9/2016. I am hand quilting this and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I started with the cream color quilting thread and I’m outlining parts. I finished the first block and I’m working a bit at a time. I’m not really going in any kind of order since I have this machine quilted to keep everything stable.
==> hand quilting this and I’m working on outlining everything with regular quilting thread. I’m on the third block. I’m already starting to get ideas on what to do next. It’s a nice slow process that I’m enjoying for this one.
===> same spot since I left this at home. It’s too cumbersome to bring on a plane and travel with. 🙂
Quilt #6 – Celtic Solstice – continue to piece bits as leaders/enders.
==> still doing this as a leaders/enders project. I’ve got a lot of pieces put together for block B. Pretty soon I’ll be able to start lining things up and piecing the rows together.
Quilt #7 – Missing Ivy – finish step 11 which is to piece the inner quilt together.
==> I got all the rows pieced but not yet put together. I’ll need to move this goal over to next month.
Quilt #7 – LQS 2012 BOM “Provence” – finish 1 block.
==> done. 🙂
==> I even started on the alternating blocks
#2 – Continue to count my stash, with a true effort to not add fabric on a whim.
I hope to make it to a quilt shop during our travels and I do plan to buy fabric. 🙂
==> I’m still in the black. I’m buying fabric but mailing to participate in my guild’s strip club. So every month I add about 2 yards because of it. And since I’ve got to go to my LQS to get fabric for the club, I end up buying a yard or two of other favorite items.
===> while on vacation I added 2 yards. I haven’t had a chance to post a stash update but I’ll get to that at some point. I’m lucky to only have added 2 yards. I visited 4 quilt shops and have not yet been tempted to add a lot of yardage. I’ll have to write up my experiences at some point and tell you why.
#3 – Create a hobby budget a stick to it!
My budget for the year was $3,000 and I surpassed it. I’ve adjusted this goal to simply continue tracking how much I spend on my hobbies.
==> Current crafty spending for 2016 as of 5/31/16 is $3297.01.
===> I spent some money but it wasn’t a lot of damage. Not like I was anticipating.
#4 – Knit weekly
My goal for June is to knit a pair of socks.
==> I am halfway through one sock.
#5 – Cross Stitch weekly
My goal is to finish the Welcome project in June.
==> Not done. I ran out of the floss I was using to embroider and my Joann’s was out. It will have to wait until I return.
#6 – Scrapbook
I haven’t done anything for this. It’s at the bottom of my priority list so… I find that everything else is taking up my crafty time. I hope that as the months continue my work life is less consuming and I can spend a few extra hours on my crafty stuff. And then be able to spend some time on scrapbooking! 🙂
Here’s a link to my original 2016 Goals.
Here’s to a great year!

At least you are making progress on most things for the year. You’ve finished some and moved others way along the road.
Thanks Susan! It’s taking me some time to respond to comments since returning from vaca but I’m slowly getting there.
