Monday of week 13, 2021

Last week went well. So I’m continuing the planning for this coming week. My cushion class meets on Sunday and I need to be ready to put all the pieces together.

I finished all my pineapple blocks and put them together so that side is done. I started taking the paper off and was able to remove them from the pineapple top and the star of jasmine top. I still need to remove the paper from the flying geese.

step 3- pineapple blocks // cushion class 3/21/2021

Monday – remove paper from flying geese, sandwich all three pieces and maybe get one of the pieces machine quilted.

Tuesday – I have a guild board meeting. While most times I’m not able to do anything, I hope I could do some of the hand work on the piece I quilted on Monday.

Wednesday – Machine quilt piece #2 and continue big stitch hand quilting on piece #1.

Thursday – Knit night so no quilting planned.

Friday – Machine quilt piece #3 and big Stitch piece #2

Saturday – Big stitch piece #3. Garden day.

Sunday – Class day. Spray baste the orange quilt Sunday afternoon.

To be honest, I’m not sure it will be done. But the most important thing is to get the machine quilting part done on all the pieces. It won’t be easy to do the big stitch after it’s all put together but if I really want it to be I could do so. Or I could simply not do the big stitching. We’ll see. I bought some beautiful Sue Spargo #8 threads that I want to try out. So I’m going to try real hard to get it all done. I think it would have been a good idea to schedule the second class 3 weeks out instead of 2 weeks.

Happy crafting, friends!

Melanie

  1. I really like the background fabric on your pineapple blocks, do you know who designed it? It adds a bit of spark to the blocks with its moons and stars, so pretty.
