Retreat Project #2

I had bought a panel a few months ago and wanted to get it done at my last retreat. The panel had hot pads, dish towels and the makings for a pennant banner flag. Well I really wanted it for the hot pads, the dish towels were cute but I would never actually use a pennant banner flag as decoration in my house. While I think they are cute and I don’t have an issue with other people using them, I am just not great at switching out my decorations so once they are in place they stay for years. Which won’t look well with time. Anyway I originally was going to sew the pennants together as made fabric and use it to make a small bag. But I realized I needed backing for the hot pads and ended up using the made fabric for that. I needed a little more fabric as it was not enough for all 3 hot pads and I needed fabric for binding so I still bought some fabric. Here they are, not yet done as I wanted to do some FMQ on 2 of the 3 but I am happy to have gotten this far.

just need binding on this one and. it will be done.

I quilted the edges and the inner part of the border but I also want to quilt around each trailer. Then I can bind this. This was the first one I quilted and I started with the edge and worked my way inside but I want to quilt around the campers. That was too hard to do on my 330 as it’s not set up to do FMQ at retreats so I left it this way to quilt on at home on my big machines.

This was the last one I was going to do but I want to start the quilting in the middle on my machines at home so I just pinned it all together and set it aside.

I am enjoying doing something different between quilt projects.

Happy sewing
