The first thing on my project plan was to take pictures of Garden Gate and almost immediately I almost didn’t bring it. To prep for this retreat, I was putting things in a laundry basket to take with me to the retreat. My sweater was in there. Well as I was getting my stuff ready and into my car I almost decided not to take it. In my head I had too much stuff already and probably wouldn’t get to any projects in that bin. Luckily I did take it because I didn’t remember my sweater was in that basket until I was already at Temecula.
And here’s my project plan.
#1- cut 1 door banner kit – I still have the last set of the January banner to cut and plan to do that at this retreat. —- done!!
- I will also bring the August banner so I can spend some time appliquéing the leaves and stem down. ==> I spent about 30 minutes on Thursday.
Instead of jumping into my project plan I took the time to work on my part of our guilds Opportunity Quilt for 2026-2027. That didn’t work out and I had to toss it back into the bin of shame.
#2 – 2023 Saturday Sampler from QP. – finish Month 12
I finally finished the last block of Month 12. And I love how it turned out. I have to retrieve the full pattern to figure out what’s next.
#3 – William Morris BOM – The next blocks to make are the June and July blocks.
I didn’t touch this one at all. I’m still suffering from PTSD incurred while working on the May block so I left it alone.
#4 – Tula Pink Butterfly 2.0 – Finish the 4th set of blocks – Stripes and update my post with the names of the blocks
#5- Spooky Halloween – I need to prep Row 2, block 3 so I can applique them. I will need to remember to bring a light box with me.
- I started Block 3 in Row 2 but didn’t take a picture. I’m doing regular needle turn because my brain found it easy to get this going.
#6- I have signed up for the 250 Jane Austen quilt a long with my LQS Quilty Pleasures in Simi and I should have it with me for this retreat.
- by the time I got to this, it was Sunday and I did not have enough brain power to work on this.
#7- Tuella and Friends. I didn’t work on this also.
