The strips have been pieced and trimmed. The next step is to press the seams and divide them into 4 pieces.
I’ll be working on this today.

I’m working on the borders for Moon Glow. I’ve spent the last few days measuring and cutting strips and strips. And since I’m a nerd I created a project plan to help keep me organized over the next few steps:
That’s my project plan over the next few days. The tables are a bit of a mess with all the pieces strewn about although nicely labeled so I don’t drive myself crazy. But that means that I can’t take out Raining Cats and Dogs until this project is done. I’m kind of sad about that since I’ve been making a lot of headway on that project the past couple of weeks.

BOMs Away Monday and Design Wall Monday:
I was able to finish the 18 blocks for the first set of pieces for the April clue of Scrapitude. I still have 2 more sets of something else to do. Not sure how complex they are yet but hopefully I get them done this week because next week, the May clue is being released. I’m also getting the Bernina back. It’s been fun playing on the featherweight but the foot pedal is a little tough to keep pressing down on with my foot and boy is it loud. The thing is pretty and reliable and perfect for sew ins and workshops but I sure miss my Bernina.

BOMs Away Monday:
I started working on Clue #4 for Scrapitude this weekend but didn’t get it finished. It looks like I’ll be working on this throughout the week. I hope to get this done this week but there are three separate pieces I need to put together and I need 18 of the first piece, 10 of the second, and 4 of the third. I do not know how many little pieces I need to put together for the pieces… Oh well, I’ll just do a little bit a day and get a little bit done at a time.

Moon Glow is still up on the design wall. The difference is that I’ve marked each block so that I can keep them in order. I’ll be taking them down soon so I can put Scrapitude’s parts up on their as I finish each of the bigger pieces.

BOMs Away Monday:
I finished Clue #3 for Scrapitude. This picture isn’t all the pieces of Clue #3 – it’s only the first part of it. But I’d already put everything away until next time and I don’t have enough time to pull it out for a picture. I’m happy that this is done and as it usually is – it wasn’t as hard as I was thinking it would be.

I finally updated my design wall with the completed Moon Glow blocks. Once all the blocks are pieced together, the next step is to get the borders on here. This is one I’ll be keeping on my bed!

BOMs Away Monday:
I’m almost done with the final round of Month 12 of Moon Glow. I’ve only got 1 side left for all 12 blocks. Once these are done, the next step is to piece all the blocks together and then the borders (I think there are borders) and then the top is done. But before I do that, the plan is as follows:

For Design Wall Monday…
My design wall is still the back of Tell It To The Stars. I’m thinking of removing this and putting up Moon Glow now that the alternate blocks are almost complete. But I do need to figure out what to do with the back of this. I want to design it but at the same time I just want it done so when I get to that point I may just get a back.

I’m on the final round of the 12 alternate blocks that is Month 12 of Moon Glow. I’ve got 2 of the 4 sides pieced and I’m working on the last two. I’m hoping to get these done today. I’ve got errands and a party to attend later so I think I only have time to do 1 of the sides. But a girl could dream. Tomorrow I will be attending a workshop for my guild and I do not know if I’ll have time to do that last side before the week starts up again. I’m okay with that. I’m just grateful to be quilting again.
Happy quilting!

I’ve been working on Month 12 for a long time. Of course, I haven’t been doing anything for the last two weeks so on Sunday between unpacking and relaxing and getting myself organized for Monday, I was able to get a few more rounds pieced together. I’ve still got 2 more rounds but I’m hoping to get that completed this week.

I took Moon Glow out of the drawer last night. Month 12 is all about the alternative blocks. There are about 20 different kinds of fabrics used. I pulled them out of the kit and labeled which fabrics they were. To do this, I first laid out my bags of fabric that were used in previous blocks and compared them with the fabric I received for this month. I took all those out and put them in their respective bags. Then I went through the list and any fabric with a similar name that I had the same fabric line but a different color way I looked at the bag for that fabric and matched it with the new fabric. It sounds weird written out. For example, I would have (because I already used it in a previous block) a fabric called Hens and Chickens-Jade. In this kit, I have a fabric called Hens and Chickens -Azure. They aren’t the same fabric but they have the same design just in a different color way. So it was easy to figure those out. I marked them up and put them in their own little bags. Then I had 3 left after those two things that I needed to figure out. On my list I had Daisy Texture-Blue, Filigree-Slate Green, and Water-Lapis. In my hand I had two blues and a green. I matched up the green to Filigree-SlateGreen pretty easily. Then there were the last two blues. For those two I had to use the picture. And that’s how I matched them up. It sounds really complicated as I’m writing it all up but while I was doing it, it was pretty intuitive and something everyone probably goes through. But at the beginning of a new month, new block – I take out the fabric and enjoy looking at them. Afterwards, sometimes, I get overwhelmed with trying to figure out what each fabric is on the list, especially with the massive amount for Month 12. Until I remember how I organized myself the previous month. And maybe there is someone out there who has never done this, or gets overwhelmed like me, and could use this process all typed out. 🙂 If I’d already detailed this process – don’t mind me, I’ve already determined my memory is shot.
I’m not sure I’ll be able to work on Moon Glow at all today. After I post this blog, I’ll be playing on Bailey. I’ll be sure to let ya’ll know how it goes. I have a yoga class to run to and then later this afternoon, I’ve got a baby shower to go to. So it’s not play all day for me today. I’m hoping that will be tomorrow.
Happy quilting, my friends!
Enjoy!
