Weekend Line Up

Razzle has been the project of the week and I finished piecing the last strip of white corduroy onto the parts I’m putting together.

Well, I do not have enough of these finished strips.  I need about 50 and I’m about 10 shy of 50.  I kept thinking that I must have counted wrong and triple counted everything over again.  And each time, I ended up with 40 completed strips.  I have about 10 half way done.  There was not enough white corduroy included in the kit originally.

Thank goodness that I have the ability to order online and get another yard of white corduroy.  And I discovered this issue at the end of the week, so I can jump on Project #4 a day early and leave Razzle for next month.

The plan for today is to applique the next piece for Raining Cats and Dogs.

Pack up Razzle, update my project page so I remember where I left off for next month.

And pull out Missing Ivy to work on this week.

Yes, the last time I worked on this was in 2013.  Remember I’m pulling out old UFOs and getting them going again.  I also have Bailey out of the garage and in my living room.  I’m having some technical difficulties on it so I’m not going to do anything with it today.  But I hope to have some time to try to get it to work again tomorrow.  I spent all afternoon on it yesterday and I really want to work with fabric so I’ll be putting off machine work until tomorrow. 🙂

Project Rotation:

  1. backing for Moon Glow / borders for Hampton Ridge
  2. Block A in for Celtic Solstice
  3. Razzle
  4. Missing Ivy

Happy quilting friends! 🙂

I’m heading over to my LQS today to the Valley MQG sew in.  I’m so excited as it will be the first sew in I’ll be attending.  In addition, I’ve got a gift certificate to spend!

I’m going to continue Step 5 of Celtic Solstice.  I’m really almost finished with this step!  I’m pressing this morning and will continue piecing until I’ve got all the units.  I know I’ve moaned and groaned about Celtic Solstice for a long time now.  But I’m not in a place (mentally) to grab another project and head over to the sew in.  Yesterday I mentioned the other things that is on my to do list hanging over my head:

  1. backing for Moon Glow
  2. borders for Hampton Ridge
  3. mark the rest of the applique for Raining Cats and Dogs

These three items are not good projects to bring to a sew in.  At least not this one with so little space.  I think I’ll continue onto Step 6 of Celtic Solstice but when I return from the sew in, I will put it away to work on something else for a bit.

Happy quilting friends! 🙂

It’s been a while since I’ve done a weekend line up!  This is the first weekend in awhile where I’ve only got to stay in the house.  Of course, I’ve got work to do.  That will slow down soon as we wrap up this month’s project.  But I love the weekends to work because I get a ton done and I can do it at my own pace AND better yet, sprinkle in a bit of quilty goodness here and there.  I made a lot of progress this morning.  I’ve pieced all (but one) of the blue triangles to their designated spot.  Now I’m half way through getting all those pieces for Step 5 done.

As I determined some time ago, I will need to cut more of the little white triangles to get more of the Orange/Yellow/White combo HSTs.

I will also need to cut a lot more of the blue triangles to complete the second half of the parts.

But I feel the finish line coming closer and I’m hoping to cross it this weekend.  🙂

Happy quilting friends!
